I know there are a few C4 people here and I wonder if you have any input or if anyone else has any ideas. The C4 was not designed with the best pedal box. It is narrow, but there is enough room, but the problem lies with the gas pedal being on a significantly lower plane than the brake pedal. Match this with the tight box and it is very hard or almost impossible to throttle blip (ie heel toe) when coming into a corner. I’ve tried changing how it blip, but I just can’t get it.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

As illustrated by the photos above it is quite the awkward distance. There have been people that say modify the brake pedal or the gas pedal, but then with no offering up of information from people that have done that and I am wary to modify pedals. I don’t want to invest in a Tilton or Willwood pedal set cause those are big money and lots of time for install , but that almost seems like the only course of action.

It’s like the manual was not as thought well out as the automatic version.

Any chance you can swap in a C5 box, its easy to heal and toe (or toe and toe) in mine even at  partial brake pedal movement

I was frequently reminded of this on my C4.  The center console/cup holder set up required very careful use of the cup holders to not knock you drink over shifting to 3rd or 5th, or 4th, 6th and reverse depending on which one you put your drink in.  I’m sure it worked fine with the auto.

I hate the center console set up on these

No I don’t think so. The C4 is not fly by wire.

Do you really heel-toe with a heel and a toe? I used to on my mini, but on the Miata it's better to toe-toe, where inside ball of foot is on brake, outside ball of foot on gas for blipping. Works out better with them offset like this because hard braking puts them on an equal plane, enabling the toe-toe method.

My GTO and the Miatas I have driven have all been good for heel toe and that how I like it. If I am braking hard enough in the C4 where the pedals are close to level then that is about full panic brake. There isn’t a very far travel that I recall and even for a hard hairpin there isn’t that much breaking needed. Not at the speeds I have been at anyway.

My Mustang’s pedals are similarly set up, rendering heel-toe action nearly impossible. I can at least still rev-match m y downshifts, just not while braking.
